FULL ORTHODONTIC ASSESSMENT 

If you’d like to progress with orthodontic treatment, we’ll need to carry out an extensive examination of your mouth. This is done by our GDC registered orthodontic specialist Dr Jeet.

At this free consultation we will:

  • Take radiographs of your teeth
  • Advise you on which appliance is the best for you

Fixed Braces

Fixed braces are appliances that sit on the outside of your teeth. They stay on your teeth throughout treatment and can not be removed. As they can not be removed, modifications have to be made to your diet to avoid breakages and damage to your teeth and gums. As they sit on the front of your teeth they are noticeable when you smile. The fixed braces can be made from different materials with differing properties. The main fixed braces I recommend are metal or ceramic. Metal braces are more noticeable than ceramic. The ceramic braces blend in better with your tooth colour. Fixed braces also use wires to move teeth.

Retainers

 

It is important to hold your teeth in the corrected positions after your appliances come off. This is done by wearing retainers. Retainers do not change the position of your teeth but rather hold them in their corrected positions. There are many types of retainers and we carefully assess each patient before we recommend a retention plan. However, the two main types of retainer we like are removable clear retainers and fixed bonded retainers. Lingual

Lingual appliances are the most discreet braces I offer. These are custom made fixed braces which sit on the inside of your teeth. Thus, when you smile it is unlikely for others to see the appliances. As these braces are the most aesthetic, they are a popular choice among adult patients. I start the process of providing you with lingual appliances by taking a 3D scan of your teeth. This replaces the messy impression taking of the past.

Invisalign ®

Invisalign® is a unique, innovative treatment that offers you the same results as metal braces but with more comfort and convenience. Discover the new you, unlock your confidence and increase your self esteem with Invisalign®. Treatment consists of a series of custom-made nearly invisible, removable aligners. Each aligner places a small amount of pressure on different teeth, so over time they straighten into the final position prescribed by your dentist.
